Summary: This low-altitude trek in the southeast of Punakha is best done in winter. We will walk through Chir pine forests and a number of small villages. Perhaps because of the easy grade, this route sees few tourists. Pack ponies are arranged to carry your gear and cooks will prepare our meals, allowing you to focus on enjoying the stunning views. Note that while the trek itself is low elevation (max. 1500m), the towns of Thimphu and Paro are around 2,300m in elevation and the Taktshang monastery at the top of the cliff is 3,700m.
